Hello and welcome.
It’s so nice that you found your way here.

Svinnock is a never ending dream of transforming a 300 year old farm into a biotope for human imagination - a place where people can experience and create amazing things together close to the wonderful archipelagic nature. We are proud stewards of 80 acres of land and humbled by the chance to look after it for future generations. Here, the old cultural landscape is braided into the untouched forrest, stretching from the dark waters of Lake Hemträsk to the shores of the Baltic Sea. We move slowly, and transform centuries old, timeworn buildings into beautiful spaces for people to enjoy.

🌻

In the years ahead we want to make room for more people, more animals and more special happenings. We are opening up new spaces for summer guests and we look forward to host work-aways, retreats and recreational gatherings, live performances and short-term residencies. We also welcome smaller groups who seek a more remote and authentic setting for their most important get-togethers. People who engage in social, artistic or scientific projects with a positive impact on planet and human wellbeing are particularly welcome to reach out, we are happy to offer stays at reduced rates.

🍆

We also dream big of bringing back farming to Svinnock. At Skillebyholm’s biodynamic gardening program in Järna we learn, step by step, and the food we farm goes straight to the mouths of the people who stay with us. And in 2019 we started a collaboration with Ecopelag opening a regenerative mussel farm on our waters in support of rescuing the Baltic Sea.

🌸

Svinnock has been in our family for a bit more than a century and is the life-work of environmentalist and architect Vilhelm Herlin. In the 18th century and onwards Svinnock was a prosperous small village on northern Ornö with a milk farm, fishery and even its own blacksmith. With urbanization people moved to Stockholm and the archipelago was depopulated, and so was Svinnock. Since the 1920s we are slowly building it back, bit by bit.

🍀

Welcome to our paradise in the making.
It’s just the beginning.
